Why study Tui Na Massage at LCTA?

  • Maturity of the course: we have taught Tui Na for over seven years so we know exactly what we’re doing. Our course is accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists and recognised by the UK Register of Tuina Chinese Massage (UKRTCM)
  • Excellent teachers: Our lecturers have trained in China and the West and are among the best in the UK
  • Watch AND Listen: talking to your teachers about the tui na techniques is a vital part of your learning experience. We only work with teachers who speak excellent English, which gives you the best chance of understanding why as well as knowing what you are doing.
  • Small groups: practical techniques need intensive feedback so we teach with a ratio of one staff member to just eight students. This means there is no waiting around in class, wondering if you are doing things right.
  • Clinical experience: our Tui Na course has 20 days of clinical experience. You will work with real patients and learn how to put all your knowledge together into a cohesive treatment that will be professional and practised and really make your patients better.
  • It improves your health: Qi gong, which you will learn alongside tui na, helps to keep your qi healthy. Tui na and qi gong can be used at home by you or your patients to support treatment.

If you study this course as a beginner, you will not only learn tui na massage techniques but you will also receive the same in-depth knowledge of Chinese medicine as students on our Acupuncture course.

On this course you will develop your skills in the various techniques, including compound techniques, passive movements and methods of tonification and sedation. You will also cover the TCM actions and apply your learning in a supervised clinical setting.

In addition, this course also includes the study of Qi Gong.

Tui Na is the best and I think everyone should study it! It is such amazing preparation for the Acupuncture clinic. On the course we learnt how to influence and engage with another person’s qi without depleting our own reserves.

“I now earn money working part time treating patients using Tui Na which is a bonus. It is also an excellent way of preparing for final clinic exams - I feel like I am being paid to revise!
