Qi Gong

Qi is "vital energy", and Gong is "time and effort". Using Qi Gong, practitioners are able to focus the mind on the body's internal state, identify areas that are out of balance and then channel the body's energy to heal itself. Regular practice of Qi Gong will not only tone up and change your body, but it will also make you fit and help you to heal yourself. Qi Gong practice helps to replenish your vital energy, keeping you healthy and making you more effective in your work.

As a Qi Gong practitioner, it can also be useful to be able to recommend exercises to patients as part of a treatment and rehabilitation plan. With regular daily practice, you can increase flexibility and reduce pain significantly. Providing movements are tailored to an individual, Qi Gong can be an empowering form of therapy.

About our Qi Gong course

This course highlights Qi Gong as an important branch of Chinese medicine and a treatment modality in its own right. It aims to create effective practitioners of Qi Gong, offering an opportunity for the interested layperson to develop Qi Gong skills from Practitioner Level I through to Level III Practitioner. With practice students can acquire the skills and level of cultivation necessary to profoundly improve their own health, and enhance the health and wellbeing of others.

The Qi Gong Therapist Diploma (at the end of year three) gives practitioners and students of Acupuncture, Herbs, Nutrition, Tui Na, and other healthcare professions, the benefit of additional energetic and practical Qi Gong methods which can serve as an adjunct to their existing practice. Healthcare practitioners can enhance their practitioner potential and empower patients with methods of self healing.

This is a unique opportunity for students to achieve a recognised professional practitioner or therapist diploma in Qi Gong, previously unavailable in the UK.

Our Practitioner Diploma in Qi Gong course has been accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists and on completion of Level 1, students are eligible for membership of this professional body.

Please note: The information regarding this course was updated in July 2009. The information in the Prospectus is slightly out of date.
