Xuan Fu Hua, magnolia flower or "colts-foot". The common name for
this herb is derived from its resemblance to the foot of a young
horse. A pungent and warm herb, Xuan Fu Hua is harvested in early
spring, before the flower buds open. When crushed between the fingers,
a distinct menthol aroma is released, which provides a clue to the
herbs main use: to unblock the nose and sinuses, and to clear sinus
headaches. |
