Get a Taste for TCM at LCTA!

For those who are somewhat unfamiliar with the teaching and practise of Chinese medicine, have always had an interest, or even those reviewing their higher education options, the London College of Traditional Acupuncture (LCTA) offers a series of open days throughout the year for potential students to come along for a presentation of what the college offers.

Alumni and staff from the LCTA are on hand during the presentation days to discuss the ethics behind the teaching of herbal medicine, traditional acupuncture, Qi Gong and Tui Na massage. Many staff members also talk about the specific approach to teaching Chinese medicine and guests have plenty of opportunities to direct both general and specific questions at members of the LCTA team.

Lectures and presentations will be given to introduce the background of Chinese medicine, where the knowledge the LCTA passes on is sourced from and how the LCTA came to be. Visitors will also be treated to a demonstration of traditional Chinese medicine in action by a member of staff or postgraduate student.

Carly Lewis, marketing manager for the LCTA explains how open days are "not just to gain the valuable information needed to enrol onto a course in traditional acupuncture or Tui Na massage, but the perfect opportunity to meet and chat with like minded people, who share the same goals and can give peer to peer advice on various experiences".
